this guy presents as more than a bit unusual so buyer beware when you are interacting with him.

i shoot a fair bit and try to buy used to support the shooting community rather than endorse the big box stores. was needing another ruger mag so called the seller this past monday as i wanted to buy the ruger 22 mag he had advertized on town post. we texted a couple of times that day to make arrangements for the sale and agreed that i would text him at 7 pm that night to confirm an evening meeting at 7-45 to make the exchange at a local shopping centre parking lot. as per our prior conversation, i texted him at 7-10 to confirm our meeting and he never got back to me. hmmm... so i called him a couple of times while on the way to ensure he would be there but he didn't answer. went to the parking lot to wait for him but he didn't show for the meeting. the next day he called to apologise saying his phone was dead, which could possibly happen but this appears to be unlikely given we had agreed upon me texting at 7 to confirm the meeting prior to making the exchange. however, give the guy the benefit of the doubt as sh!t happens.

today (friday), i texted him again on a different phone, agreeing to meet at the same parking lot later in the day. he indicated this would be fine so i said that i would text him around 4 pm while we were on our way to the parking lot to pick up the ruger mag. while we were on our way, i texted him to confirm we could meet him in about 30 min. he replied back that that he thought the mag was sold (???). i quickly texted him back mentioned that we had an agreement made earlier that day that i would to pick up the mag around 4-30 so was the mag sold to me or another person? i didn't get a response back from him and while i tried calling him immediately a couple of times to clarify the situation, he never picked up the phone nor did he return my text messages.

as he had his email address on the ad, i emailed him later in the day mentioned that i was going to leave an honest review on him on town post mentioning the run around he was demonstrating in selling the mag, his response was....."You appear to be mentally ill. You cares what you think. Bye."

i try and support fellow firearms owner by purchasing used stuff rather than supporting big box stores and i have about 90 positive reviews on cg. this is the first time i have dealt with someone as strange as this person it. as the shooting community doesn't need any more stupidity in its ranks, deal with caution when buying anything from him. better yet, avoid him completely. interestingly enough, i see the ad for the ruger mag is still posted so no certain exactly what sort of games this guy is engaging in.

i see i am not alone in my observations as he has shown the same behavior as per comments made by another user.
